Election Day Spontaneous celebrations swept across our Brooklyn neighborhood Saturday, after the news broke that Joe Biden had clinched enough Electoral College votes to become the next President of the United States.
People cheered in the streets while apartment-dwellers hung out of their windows to bang pots and drivers honked their horns. Meanwhile, hundreds gathered at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Arch in Grand Army Plaza, and thousands more celebrated throughout the day in neighboring Prospect Park.
