The <blink> tag will soon be no more, as the number of browsers capable of rendering it approaches zero.
Writing for the New Yorker’s new science and tech blog, Vijith Assar provides some history, and reflects on what it means for digital preservation as modern browsers shed the ability to display the web as it once was. A good reminder that data alone isn’t enough for lasting, accurate preservation.
